The process
When long-time brand partner 100% connected with the Trek Project One team about a throwback pair of shades they were designing, our painters were ready to join in on the fun.
But color matching a bike to a pair of sunglasses is no easy feat — and it took meticulous efforts from our Project One painters. Not only did they have to find colors that would look the exact same on carbon fiber as they did on the Korbin X frames — they had to create a custom shade of hot pink to get the Trek logo just right.
And for the nostalgic linear fade? Our painters hung each bike vertically and rotated it throughout the paint spraying process to give it a balanced, cohesive look.
