At the core of the SLR Racing Replica lies its Carbon Fiber Skeleton: a shaped carbon structure developed in collaboration with Austrian technology partner Fibionic.
This solution allows for an ultra-thin shell—just 1.5 mm thick—while preserving a high level of rigidity where it matters most.
Combined with the dedicated EVA padding and the new carbon rails, the Carbon Fiber Skeleton plays a key role in delivering the exceptional lightness that defines the SLR Racing Replica.
Road tests conducted with professional athletes have also shown that the saddle is able to maintain a high level of stiffness over time, outperforming traditional shell constructions in long, high-intensity racing conditions.
An iconic shape, refined through evolution
The new SLR Racing Replica retains the iconic shape that has made the SLR one of Selle Italia’s most recognisable and successful models, while introducing a series of targeted design evolutions based on real-world usage data.
The saddle length has been reduced to 242 mm, six millimetres shorter than the SLR Boost version, bringing it closer to the UCI regulatory limit of 240 mm and making it even more compact and performance-oriented.
The padding has also been completely reengineered: now shorter and minimal in the rear section, an area that analyses carried out using idmatch Pressure Map technology have shown to be less engaged and not critical for comfort.
This approach eliminates unnecessary material and further optimises overall weight.
