Hello again, fellow riders! Just two more weeks until we all meet and conquer the beautiful route around Suan Phueng. This isn’t just another cycling event — it’s “a moment for us to create lasting memories together on two wheels.”
Get ready for a ride that’s full of flavor — 100% road, no gravel, but definitely not 100% flat either!
Let’s do a quick check-up — good preparation is the key to a happy ride.
Here are 4 easy training tips to help you enjoy every moment of the Probike Grand Century, chatting and smiling your way through the ride
1) Ride your usual distance regularly
If you’ve already started training, great! If not, it’s time to wake up those muscles, breathing, metabolism, and focus. Getting your body familiar with the bike again will help you perform better and reduce the risk of injuries — so you can enjoy the event and reach your goals comfortably.
2) Practice climbing or simulate resistance
We’ll give you a little hint — it’s not all flat! The route includes rolling climbs throughout. If you’re used to flat training, try using a heavier gear (2–3 cogs up) and pedal at a lower cadence of around 60–70 RPM to simulate climbing resistance. It’s not quite the same as real hills, but it’ll make a big difference with limited training time!
3) Listen to your body (not just the voice in your head!)
Training smart gives you an edge — but resting well guarantees it. Quality rest helps your body adapt to fatigue and recover efficiently. Combine that with proper nutrition and balance, and you’ll feel stronger, fresher, and ready for both training and event day.
4) Train with your cycling buddies
Cycling is a social sport! Training with friends keeps things fun, helps you push further, and keeps motivation high (no one wants to be the one who bails and gets teased in the group chat ). Riding in a group also helps you practice pace, safe distances, and teamwork — essential skills for a smooth and safe event day when riding in a peloton.
Bonus Tip: Be ready with the right gear
For this year’s ride, we recommend the IGPSPORT BST300T as your perfect training and event-day companion.
It records all your ride data, supports map downloads for the Probike Grand Century #60 route, and offers reliable navigation. With a full-color touchscreen, long battery life, and modern companion app for data syncing and analysis — all at a wallet-friendly price (and yes, still some change left from 4,000 baht!) — it’s a great value compared to higher-end models.
